Political Leaders
My friends! It has been a little while, right? I have been caught up with school work and my job at the pizzeria. But all is well! A customer even brought me 15 beautiful white roses yesterday, it was a pleasant surprise.
So a few days ago, I had the chance to go see the movie, "The Island President", in downtown San Francisco. I went because my International Affairs professor offered extra credit to go see it. I will admit, at first I did not want to go because it sounded boring but I wanted extra points for a solid A. But I am so happy I went. It was about the Maldives and their (now former) President Mohamed Nasheed. The movie showed how Mohamed went from living in an oppressed country with a lot of brutality under President Maumoon Gaymoon to being one of the main forces in starting a democratic political party. He was imprisoned 20 times and tortured before he and the Maldives people made the big revolt and Mohamed became President! And that was just the beginning, the movie then focused on how the new democratic president dealt with the battle of global warning with other countries, in order to come up with a good plan on how to deal with carbon emissions.
Yes, it seems like another tree hugging documentary but it's not, it shows how political leaders deal with each other on a personal note too. I will say that I was amazed at how well some carried themselves and how others acted like complete idiots (I won't name countries of course). A few of you may know, that I once wanted to be President of the United States and a Senator. But as time went on and I grew up, I loved business even more and I feel I can impact more people for the better through business ventures. I love the world, but I need everyone more than they need me. The point is, if I was to be President of the United States, I would carry myself very well and give respect to others, I am sure all political leaders do right? I guess I would want to be a mixture of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and of course ME.
Don't worry though, my focus is on business. I just want to make the world run smoother and have developing countries on good terms with plenty of communication with the developed/industrialized countries. It sounds impossible but if you subtract our pride and egos, anything is.Well,I must be off to do some homework. Stay sane and humble my habibis.
