Sharing The Bliss

Alhambra, Granada, Spain

My friends, hello! Oi! Hola! Mar7aba! Salut! How are you doing? Can you believe another year has flashed before our eyes? I did not think I would be living a life like this in a world like this today, yet we are here. Let’s roll with it, let’s learn from it, and let us ultimately triumph!

Personally, this has been a year of finding the power in my voice, in my work, and in my dreams. Not only in finding it but in learning how to use this power to help fuel my goals and help foster the communities that I live in and interact with. Also, learning how to help empower others and bringing out the best in them because I appreciate those who believe in me enough to do this for me.

In the midst of all this growth, I am fortunate to have been able to enjoy time with my lovely friends and family in places like Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the place that has my heart–California! I have savored new foods and wines, all while taking notes on how to bring these new experiences to others who don’t have access to travel so freely.

With some of my lovely family in Santa Ynez, CA.

I also kicked off The Ñuu Savi Project, a project started as a continuation of my work in developing BBIPOC (Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Other People of Color) grantee pipelines and portfolios for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. Also, as a homage to my maternal family and ancestors, who are Ñuu Savi; I have seen their struggles, felt their pain, and I feel their hope.

Although I am privileged to hold the opportunity to enhance my life, I have also tried to understand the madness and struggles of the world around me. This year brought me new experiences and challenges; I have been frustrated at times, I have been hopeless, and faced melancholy moments. However, I sit with these moments and try to understand the gift and beauty in them. Without them, I don’t think I would truly understand what it means to live.

Looking back at a journal entry from 2018, I continue to think and feel the same way in certain aspects:

"I have felt as the most happiest and most miserable in life at various times. Despite this, I am content with what I've done and where I'm going. For those whom I've crossed paths with, thank you for making my life sweeter, even if for a moment. And for those I've ever made feel discontent, forgive me. I strive to be a better person each day and I am learning." -Jeanette Jane Giron, Rio De Janeiro, 2018.

I strive to be better, to do better, and to be successful; Not only for myself and my own sanity but to share with my loved ones and this world. The universe has allowed me to experience true bliss–a bliss that I want to share with you all!

In the New Year, I’m excited to continue my community work, my volunteering, and pursue higher education. I’ve signed up to attend a few university courses that will keep my brain fresh and perhaps inspire to go for an MS degree (once I decide what I want that major to be exactly). I've also been keeping up with miscellaneous online courses too and I would also like to share my gratitude for my coaches–my life coach, my financial coach, my boxing coaches, my lingual tutors, and others that push me to the brink of insanity for good reason.

I look forward to connecting and seeing many of you in 2022, which holds great things for us. Perhaps we will have the chance to meet somewhere among the glaciers of Patagonia, the deserts of Morocco, the cherry blossom trees in Japan, or in the lively streets of Thailand?

My friends, I am grateful for your continued kindness, support, and companionship on this journey of life; We didn’t choose to be here, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make our lives extraordinary!

Just me. Seville, Spain.
