Joie de Vivre: The Joy of Living

Hello, my friends! Hola amigos!  Mar7aba habibis! Ola meus amigos! Salut salut! How has life been for all of you? Anything exciting? Any challenges?  (That I am sure you will overcome!) My life has been amazing! I've just returned from Paris, France and it was a dream come true! I am forever grateful to the universe and to the world to allow me such a chance. Of course, I visited the Eiffel Tour, Le Louvre, Versailles, Les Champs Elysees, and many more places. It was the people of France that truly made my days there spectacular! From the hospitality workers to the people on the street, they were all kind and helpful. I was able to see another side of the world through them. The food was beyond delicious!

The pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant) was my favorite snack and the steak frites (steak and fries) tasted as if I were feasting on food of the Gods! I cannot forget to mention the coffee! Which was brewed to a steamy perfection with no need for cream or sugar to mask anything about it. I frequently sat in a cafe and enjoyed a simple glass of sparkling water and champagne, you could never go wrong with such choices! C'est la vie! Le Louvre was breath taking--as I have always seen pictures of it, but to be inside was inspiring. How can humans make such beautiful things? Shouldn't we focus all of our energy into creating greatness like the art inside Le Louvre, instead of creating blood shed? Of course the starring piece was, "The Mona Lisa". I came face to face with her and I saw in her eyes, this contentment and wonder for the world. I knew she was humble and I also knew that she was aware of her power and fame. If I could only be as simple and wise as her one day... How could I ever forget to tell you about my future home in France--Versailles! Oh, can't a girl dream?!  Versailles was mesmerizing and made me fall in love with her. Her beauty was detailed and showed pure grandeur. Her gardens matched the beauty of the chateau itself too. I could only imagine how Marie Antoinette felt like. Wow!

I met many great people in Paris and one of them made some of my dreams come true. His name is Julien (if you're reading this, thank you for showing me the beauty of Paris and of people). He went out of his way to pick me up at my door step and took me on a tour of Paris during the lovely night on his scooter, which has been a dream of mine to do. It’s certainly a night I will never forget! I also had the honor of sharing a few words with my friend Joof, whom I met in the US. We hung out near the river, just next to Notre Dame, and discussed our plans for life. I said, Un jour, je serai le president des États-Unis! “One day, I will be president of the United States!” And Joof said, “Wow, I know a future President!” We laughed, but he knew I was serious. He was fascinated by my forgiveness for the gypsies and immigrants. I told him, “How could we judge others if we all must endure hardship, sins and sorrows? We must lead by example and instead of excluding them and others, we must become a team—together we are invincible!”

Whether or not I become president of the United States (in 2040), I will dedicate my life to the world. I love to make people smile and have a sense of hope, as the universe has given me. Although even one, such as I, gets confused, lost and heart broken...I can assure you, if you savor these feelings and use them to help fuel your dreams, anything is possible! Tout est possible!  Thank you all, for the gift of love and for the gift of life. Until next time my habibis, stay sane and humble!
