Education vs. Knowledge
Hello my habibis! How is life? Work? School? Love? All is well for me, although a little stressed but don't worry, I won't die from it. I have been babysitting my nephews and my little sister for the past few days and it's hard work. I guess it's a glimpse into motherhood but that won't happen for a while. The beautiful summer weather is doing my skin well and there is no school or work in sight. Just five more days until I am in the Dominican Republic and I cannot wait to be inspired by them and to inspire them as well. I desire to learn new things about life. Knowledge is key but what about education? Or is education key? Then what is knowledge?
I think that knowledge is far more valuable than education, perhaps you are thinking that they are the same thing, no? But I see them differently. Education is more like training--training for jobs and other tasks. Knowledge is also information but it is a type of soul food as it brings human understanding and powerful emotions that allows for peace, tranquility, and a better world.
Have you noticed that the Western world strives to educate the third world? But what are they doing exactly? Enriching their lives or training them to serve their corporations and expansion? I am not bashing Western countries--as I am a United States citizen and proud to be so, it is just an observation. I love being an English teacher to immigrants and so on but I not only do it to teach them, but also to learn something about life. To see how the world motivates itself to strive for better and how they reach happiness, in hopes that I can one day be as strong and courages as them.
Well my habibis, it has been a long and pleasant day and I am off to read a little. Stay sane and humble my habibis.
